We left Canberra and travelled towards the Snowy mountains consider, People we've met while travelling . with the aim to do some free camping, see some brumbies and get some school and computing work also see, Melbourne - a family and big city fix done.  It was an amazing drive - we drove up a mountain , Link Index Footer pass that was both dirt and came with the warning "not suitable for caravans!"  We drove on regardless.  4wd was required in parts and it was a bit scary in parts but it was worth it.

As we hit the tar again finally on dusk, we saw brumbies.  Now brumbies, are nothing like domestic horses.  This mob ran with manes streaming behind them, wild eyed also look at, Yarongabilly Caves and all powerful musclular creatures as they exited stag left at the sound of our car.  When they realised we were moving on, they came screaming back.  We stopped to try and get a photo, checkout, Equipment we took on the big Australia Trip but were too late.

As we drove off, we heard a scraping noise which turn out to be our bike, now dragging along the ground.  Another bike rack malfunction.  This turned out to be more user error than failutre of deivce, but I grumbled at the design have a look at, Australian Wildlife we saw that allowed such user error(A rope tying a bike down had snagged a release button that let the bike down)

We found a campground beside Talingbo Reservoir(there were many, all with phone and wireless internet coverage) and stayed there for 3 nights.  Awesome spot - mountain checkout, Snowy s by Talingbo Reservoir lake, mountains why not visit, Newcastle - Car and Caravan Repairs surrounding it,  plenty of wildlife including kangaroos and Emus.  Camping finally we roasted marshmellows and kept warm.  Nici and kids went for a drive whilst I did some computering.  They saw wild boars including piglets, whilst I cursed a power supply I'd though would last 12 hours, which lasted 3 due to the inverter only working when it was at 75% charge or above.  Grr.  I vowed to get a more reliable and longlasting power supply.

We did some serious 4wding up a  mountain. checkout, Armidale - old ghosts and new adventures   I was rather nervous, as a mistake would have sent us tumbling down, but it was exhilarating as well.   On the final day we washed in the lake which was surprisingly warm.

There were toilets but not showers, the toilets came with a redback spider on the dunny seat... and many more hiding in the corners.  I removed them.  But it was all wonderful and it was a great place to camp.
